REFLECTION
During our process of planning out the events, we went through a lot of trouble to figure out each other's schedules because it was difficult to find dates where everyone was free. It was stressful and we were beginning to blame each other for the lack of progress, but after a lot of thought we decided to be considerate towards each other's times and we split our activities into separate weeks. This issue shows that a lot can be so easily solved from putting each other's needs into consideration.
The first location which we agreed upon is 'Rumah Amal Al-Firdaus'. I learned a lot from visiting this place because, getting there in the first place was quite a task because it's located all the way in Denai Alam, and we live all the way in Campus in Kuala Lumpur (where we aren't allowed to bring our own vehicles for the first year) but we got it all sorted out, so this itself taught us to be able to patiently find solutions.
Next is from seeing the children there. This showed me tolerance, because from what I've heard, these children have gone through a lot, and at such a young age. However, they seemed so happy and grateful over what they have, whereas a lot of us are complaining over such petty things. Being surrounded by these kids really touched my heart and taught me to be more appreciative over everything, even the little things.
Our next location is SMK Presint 8. It was so fun being there, as it made me feel nostalgic and it made me miss being in school. It's true when they say that you only miss something once you can no longer have it. Anyway, being a facilitator to the students here made me realize one thing: nothing is difficult if you're really willing to learn. We held activities which would be considered 'challenging' to students around the SMK level, however we didn't see them complaining at all. They seemed very excited and welcomed the knowledge with open arms; which is something we tend to forget daily.
Experiencing these activities really made me realize a lot of things, and I hope we can apply the positive attributes that we've picked up from these activities into our daily lives.
